dc.description.abstract The overall goal of this study was to establish the effect of Strategic leadership on employee motivation. The study focused on a case study of Africa Inland Church Makongoro Pastorate, Mwanza Tanzania. The study was guided by the following specific objectives; to identify the strategic leadership practices embraced by AIC Makongoro Pastorate Mwanza, Tanzania, to determine the level of employee motivation at AIC Makongoro pastorate Mwanza, Tanzania, to determine the effect of strategic leadership on employee motivation at AIC Makongoro pastorate Mwanza, Tanzania, to find out challenges facing at AIC Makongoro Pastorate Mwanza, Tanzania, strategic leadership in embracing strategic leadership. The study reviewed both theoretical and empirical literature where the Servant Leadership Theory and Vroom‟s Expectancy theory were used to demonstrate the leadership style and employee motivation how they relate together to achieve performance. The research used the descriptive design as it mainly focused on the issues or problems attitude toward the leadership of AIC over the years and the changes and improvements that have been experienced in the organization over the years. The target population was composed of 102 people comprising all officers within the employees of AIC Makongoro pastorate which include pastoral staff, senior managers, middle level managers, other management staff, junior workers and temporary employees of AIC Makongoro pastorate in Mwanza, Tanzania. The target population sampled was 50%. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software versions 21 was used in data analysis. The study found out that strategic leadership played a major role in employee motivation. The study recommends that organization should adopt strategic leadership style if they are to improve on their employee motivation. en_US
